From March 20 to March 26, the Arch Stanton Quartet embarked on a tour of Egypt, performing two dates at the Cairo International Jazz Festival; two performances for high school students (many of whom had never heard American jazz music before) in Cairo and Alexandria; a reception in Alexandria; a performance for students and faculty at the American University in Cairo; a series of jazz workshops and master classes at the American University in Cairo; and a reception with cultural affairs officials from the U.S. Embassy.

Upstate NY Band Arch Stanton Quartet Heads For "Jazz Diplomacy" Tour of Egypt

On April 6, 2013, the band headed into 90.9 FM WCDB studios to chat about our tour of Egypt on Bill McCann's Saturday Morning Edition of Jazz radio program. Former ASQ drummer Jim Ketterer dialed in from Cairo to chat with the band and Bill about the tour. The tour was sponsored by Jim's organization, AMIDEAST/Egypt, as well as the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and the American University in Cairo. Listen to the program below.
