The Arch Stanton Quartet, based in upstate New York, is putting a new spin on bop and post-bop jazz, with angular funk and latin grooves, expansive improvisation and inventive original tunes steeped in the traditions of Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, Charles Mingus and John Scofield.
The Quartet has played club dates and private events throughout the Capital Region, Saratoga and the Hudson Valley, frequently calling upon its stable of talented guest artists to perform vocal-jazz gigs or to explore new varieties of instrumentation.
